Dear NSBE Supporter, In 2020 the National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE) launched our Giving Showcase initiative. During a year of turmoil, it was essential to highlight the incredible things taking place in NSBE and celebrate supporters whose giving helped make them happen. The NSBE Giving Showcase celebrates our top donors in various giving categories who contributed in 2020. Undoubtedly, NSBE thrived off the support of all who gave to the Society in 2020, and we are very grateful for every individual who opened their hands and hearts to NSBE in financial support. Continuing this spirit of thankfulness, we would like to recognize the top supporters in the categories listed below. 2020 NSBE GIVING SHOWCASE AWARDS Limelight Award: The Limelight Award recognizes supporters who collaborate and create unique fundraising strategies to bring awareness and support to NSBE. NSBE is pleased to award Damaune Journey with the Limelight Award. Damaune is the first supporter to collaborate with the NSBE's Fund Development team to conduct peer-to-peer fundraising using our new Text-to-Give platform. This initiative has raised over $5K and supported the Journey Hill Family Fund established by Damaune. Spotlight Award: The Spotlight Award recognizes supporters who made a generous gift to support NSBE via our Text-to-Give platform. NSBE is pleased to showcase Gary May for donating a significant gift toward the Journey Hill Scholarship Award Fund through Damaune Journey's text-to-give peer-to-peer campaign. Going the Extra Mile Award: The Going the Extra Mile Award recognizes supporters who went the extra mile to double or triple the impact of their donation via our matching gift platform. NSBE is pleased to showcase a donor who wishes to remain anonymous for donating to NSBE and matching her significant gift to become an NSBE Lifetime Member. Make a Difference Award: The Make a Difference Award recognizes supporters who gave our general support fund the largest donation in 2020. NSBE is pleased to showcase Darryl and Leslye Fraser for donating a significant gift in response to our Emergency Support Fund. Their generosity has provided emergency financial relief to members who need it most and gives NSBE the support we need to continue to deliver necessary services during this crisis. Congratulations to our awardees. Your contributions have supported the National Society of Black Engineers mission "to increase the number of culturally responsible Black Engineers who excel academically, succeed professionally and positively impact the community."
